BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF LITTLE MIAMI JOINT FIRE AND RESCUE DISTRICT

In 1999, Columbia Township the Village of Fairfax entered into an agreement to form the Little Miami Joint Fire and Rescue District to provide fire protection and rescue services to their respective communities. A Board of Trustees was established with two trustees appointed by Columbia Township and two trustees appointed by the Village of Fairfax. At least one of the Fire District Trustees is an elected official of Columbia Township Board of Trustees and at least one is an elected official of the Village of Fairfax. Each community also appoints an alternative representative who is an elected official. The length of term of the appointment is at the discretion of each political entity. Officers of the Board are determined annually at the first regularly scheduled meeting of each year.

The government of the Little Miami Joint Fire and Rescue District is vested in the Board of Trustees, including levying taxes to support the financial operation of the District.

Trustees are not compensated for the performance of their duties, but may be reimbursed for any reasonable expense incurred in the performance of their duties.
